Hey, sorry I made a whole thread on this in general, I'm really new with the forums, but have used this site since before it was reborn.
This was on the old site. It was listed under shotacon doujinshi, but I suppose it could be categorized as yaoi due to the characters being 14 or older.... the main theme of it was two boys in Nazi Germany. The doujin even had a disclaimer at The top saying that "we at yaoihaven do not agree with or endorse the ideas of Hitler or Nazi Germany, or anti-Semitism, this is merely a story/ art" or something to that effect.
There were two friends/lovers. They were in Hitler youth. They had trained together in Hitler youth(that's why I believe the characters were older than 14), and it was nearing the end of world war two. The Nazis had decided to deploy them to the front lines, but just before the unit was to deploy, one of the boys sprained his ankle, so didn't go with his original group. His friend and the rest of his unit set out without him to the western front.
Two weeks later, he is on his way to the front, when he sees his friend/lover being carried an infirmary tent. His one hand is missing, as is one leg from the knee down and an eye.
They have this deep conversation about how they wished the war had never happened, and how different their lives would have been if they never had to fight. Then they come to the realization that this war will probably kill one or both of them, and that they probably won't get to be together, but will never forget each other. While all this is going on they're fucking of course.
It ends with the line "and you/I will continue to shape my/your pain... forever"
It was one of the saddest and best stories I had ever read, from novels to stories and videogames and movies and anime, it competed with all of them in terms of depth and character creation and emotions. An amazing piece of literature.
It was in black and white if I remember correctly. I've tried getting help from 4 and 8 chan users, I even used the way back machine to look at the old site, to no avail. It was in English, and it wasn't on YHR, but it was on yaoihaven.
I would greatly appreciate any help in finding it.
